Mass Effect 3 - Review (PS3)

Pros

  • Appeals to a wide audience with multiple ways to play.
  1. Great involving story with many dialog choices to make.
  2. Has the option as well to play as a straight action game where you will not have to make any choices.
  • Amazing visuals even on console systems.
  • A lot of character development available to make your character to suit your play style.
  • Content taken from Mass Effect 2 and 1 works flawlessly.
  • Removal of pointless time sinks like hacking, scanning planets for resources, etc..

Cons

  • (PS3) Lots of graphical stuttering, I would suggest not playing on a console platform if possible.
  • Lots of bugs on the new content they have developed for mass effect 3.
  • Abilities occasionally glitch out.
  • Some missions are broken making them near impossible to complete without doing things in a specific way.
  • Pretty much the same as Mass Effect 2 and 1 with a new story.
  • Published by EA.

Level-up Screen, (Really crappy picture but best I could find)
Upon entering Mass Effect 3 you customize your characters class and appearance, unfortunately all the girl hair styles look like something out of a 80s movie aside from the default one, which you can't use on a custom character, so you will most likely just end up locking in the default character anyways.

You will find lots of tidbits of information walking around town and exploring people will talk about points of interest you might want to visit at some point as well as side missions you can undertake.

Turning in quest can be quite awkward at times, I often wandered around talking to people trying to figure out if they had any lines of dialog to tell me, probably after the 20th time saying hi then saying bye a second later you think they'd start to wonder lol.

The overall game play is quite fun, though it's still the same abilities and classes that were in the past 2 Mass Effects the only thing really new is like 1 ability per class then there's a lot of guns to find and armor which keep it more interesting.

Even though I have played Mass Effect 1 and 2 I still very much enjoyed the story and even the combat, though I played the engineer and I enjoyed making turrets shoot at their allies, then later on I specced into overload and enjoyed 1 hit killing most mechanical things lol. But if you have played 1 of the past ones I'd suggest picking a new class because there is nothing really new about them.

Overall Mass Effect 3 is still using the same formula that we love, of course if you have played the earlier ones it might be a tad boring, but for those new to it, there is loads of fun to be found.
