Big Picture works a lot like the Xbox360's built in system or the PS3 I just say the Xbox because I think it has more of that kind of feel to it, it's a media center for your PC allowing you to play games from your couch all with the HD Quality of the PC. Really the way they have it setup is pretty neat it's easy to navigate and find what you need, there is even a nicely built in web browser it functions much like chrome with the frequently visited sites, favorites, etc..
The "Daisywheel" is Steam's way of typing which is fairly interesting and honestly if you get good enough at it could be "almost" as fast as typing with a keyboard. It allows you to surf the web and type to friends without thinking... wow I wish I had a keyboard lol as I've often experienced even with phones that have keyboards built into them. >.<
Currently the keyboard and system only functions in one language which is to bad but they will be adding more functionality to it later. ^^ Which will be great I am really looking forward to seeing the Japanese version of the Daisywheel haha.
It runs in 720p or 1080p which honestly is fine lol, it could run in higher resolutions but it'd just take up more process and wouldn't really look all that much better. The games itself will still run in their full intended resolution so there is no need to worry about it affecting game functionality.
Here's the Web browser, it's not anything special but it's functional and works, it's a Firstperson Internet so you use the left stick to navigate around the page then the right stick will zoom in and out.
Overall it's really just your standard media center but now on your computer that allows you to use your controller with it lol, i'm just waiting till you allow you to play videos in it >.< and movies and such, can't wait for that if they are planning to do it.
Try it out yourself and have fun. ^^
